Biography

Edson Sean

Having had his fill of mainstream monotony, born and bred Brooklynite, Edson Sean, is on a mission to bring authentic musicality back to the forefront.

Edson Sean’s video for his song “Stupid Me” is currently in rotation on VH1 Soul. This first effort from his upcoming album “The Pursuit of Magic” is preparing the public for next thing in Hip-Hop/Soul. Edson has been influenced by the likes of Stevie Wonder and Eric Roberson to Big Daddy Kane and The Roots.   He has seamlessly combined old school Hip Hop sensibilities with a classic soulful feel that creates a refreshingly new, yet familiar, sound.

Edson is not new to the music scene. In 2009 he was chosen by Jazz at Lincoln Center and the State Department to be an American Music Ambassador. Along with fellow R&B singer Shantel Jackson, Rapper Chris Rel and DJ Pretty Nyce (Pierre Aime), the quartet travelled to six West African countries to bridge the cultural gap through music and soft diplomacy. Not only does Edson sing and write, he also plays several instruments, including piano, drums, guitar and djembe. To date, Edson has released 2 albums under his previous moniker “Omni Blaize”.  He will release his next self-produced full length album, “The Pursuit of Magic”, on November 12, 2015.
